For Rotarians, it's service above self
Rotarians are proud of the service and charitable projects that we sponsor throughout the year as we use our hands and hearts to help others.
We host a Community Sale. All proceeds are contributed to charitable projects.
We support international projects. We help support club member Paul Moore DDS, as he performs dental procedures among the poor in Honduras. Three times in recent years, we have purchased computers for children in orphanages in Peru, an effort supported by a team of professionals that includes club member Jim Petersen.
We sponsor a Charity Golf Tournament and a run/walk with the Wentzville Schools Foundation. The money we raise funds scholarships or supports charitable and educational projects, such as grants for classroom teachers.
We have assumed the responsibility of cleaning up a section of Meyer Road, near Rotary Park, at least four times a year, as part of the "Adopt-a-Street" Program for the City of Wentzville, and also have participated in Mission Clean Stream, picking up debris.
We deliver Meals on Wheel to the Wentzville East area every Thursday.
We volunteer to work the gate at the St. Charles County Fair every August.
We sell Old Newsboy editions in late November and ring the Salvation Army bells in December. We collect items for the April Shower for children's agencies in St. Charles County.
We buy and deliver clothing and gifts to children in the Wentzville schools at Christmastime.
The club supports literacy programs and donates books to area school libraries in honor of its weekly program presenters.
Club members plant flowers each spring at the memorial flag pole on the Wentzville wedge.
Our members support over 20 local charities, church, or civic organizations with contributions from their "wheel spins" each quarter of the year. Members with perfect attendance are given a spin of the wheel. They then donate the amount of money they spin, up to $100, for the charities or organizations they have chosen.
